“In search of protection - when the climate threatens our home”
Intercultural city tour

Imagine losing your home! - A scenario that became a sad reality for over 26 million people worldwide in 2023. Extreme weather events and natural disasters have forced many to leave their familiar habitats behind. The challenges posed by climate change are manifold: floods, droughts, devastating fires and even earthquakes make entire regions uninhabitable and jeopardize our food sources. Even Europe is not spared, as the recent flood disasters in the Ahr valley and Valencia show. History teaches us that natural disasters such as severe storms or volcanic eruptions have also forced people in our region to relocate or emigrate. Join us on an exciting journey of discovery in which we explore the historical traces of destruction together with experts and contemporary witnesses and reconstruct the effects on people and their way of life. Let's find out together how we can learn from the past to shape a better future!

A cooperation with the Office for Diversity and Equal Opportunities and the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration of the City of Ingelheim am Rhein.
