From Monday, 16 December, TI will once again be offering the coveted bars with the chic Ingelheim design. The high-quality organic chocolate is available in two flavours. For a price of 3 euros, customers can choose between ‘Salty Caramel’ (41 per cent cocoa content) and ‘Noir Salty Caramel’ (70 per cent cocoa content). Both flavours come from fair trade and are made from organic ingredients. The fair city chocolate is a project of the Fairtrade Town Initiative of the city of Ingelheim in cooperation with Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM), the Heidesheim World Shop and the Ingelheim Advisory Council for Migration and Integration (BMI).
When selecting the product, it was important to those involved that the chocolate not only tasted delicious, but could also be enjoyed with a clear conscience. Therefore, the choice fell on a chocolate from ‘GEPA - The Fair Trade Company’, which has been committed to decent work in the Global South for decades and sustainably improves the living conditions of small farmers on the ground. The cocoa comes from São Tomé, while other ingredients come from Togo, Paraguay, Bolivia and Germany.
The Ingelheim town chocolate is not only available at the tourist information centre in the Ingelheim Winzerkeller (Binger Straße 16), but also in the Heidesheim World Shop, Clemensstraße 2. Further information about the project is available online at www.ingelheim.de/schokolade
