Our family runs a small vineyard in the district of Groß-Winternheim, exclusively according to the guidelines of the Federal Association for Organic Winegrowing "ECO VIN". Our focus is on the production of high-quality red wines. Sparkling, fruity white wines, fresh white herbs, sparkling wine and secco complete the assortment. Among others: Wines from the "Ingelheimer Kirchenstück" vineyard. Wine tastings from 15 to 24 people are possible.

Here you can buy chilled wines and sparkling wines 24/7, i.e. around the clock. Whether for the next hike on the Hiwwelt Tour, as a quick souvenir for friends at the weekend or a spontaneous purchase in the evening. The vending machine is stocked with seasonal products such as mulled wine. Age restriction by identity card or driving licence.
The Braunewell winery is located in the Selztal in Essenheim in Rhenish Hesse. The family-run winery around the brothers Christian and Stefan manages the Essenheimer Blume and Essenheimer Teufelspfad vineyards, among others, and is a member of Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen, Fair`n`Green and Sektmacher. The vinotheque in the winery, which was newly built in 2020, has received several awards, including an excellent vinotheque in 2021 from the German Wine Institute.
The winery has been practising organic viticulture since 1978. The Schmitt family was one of the first winegrowers in Germany to take the concept of sustainability seriously and completely abandon the use of synthetic chemical fertilisers and sprays. They were co-founders of ECOVIN, the Federal Association of Organic Viticulture. The vaulted cellar dating back to 1865 is spanned by two stone arches. The logo of our winery shows them as a symbol of our winemaking tradition.
In the listed Engelthal Monastery (Kloster Engelthal) we have created a world of experience around wine. A modern vinotheque offers you the opportunity to get to know and buy our wines. Our restaurant and various rooms for meetings and celebrations are also located here. Our philosophy: Preserve the good and bring it in line with the contemporary! Wines and estates are spectacular. The castle ensemble (16th/17th century) towers stately over Ingelheim. In 1900, the von Opel family acquired the estate. Today, the VDP winery is run by Count and Countess Schönburg-Glauchau in the fourth generation.
