Groß-Winternheimer Bockstein

Army road, dry stone wall and Rieslings

Just like Elsheim, Groß-Winternheim also has a single vineyard called Bockstein. This does not come as a surprise, as the two villages are only five kilometres apart, both by the Selz River and on the former army road. In the past, loads were carried on the back, jacked up (german: “aufgebockt”). Hence the name. Excellent Rieslings are produced here on loess, sand and clay marl. Lizards bask in the sun along the dry stone walls. The hiking trail Westerberg Hiwweltour leads directly along Groß-Winternheim. Along the river Selz, there are wonderful places for cycling.

Nina und Tobias Huster

Winery Huster

We are a purely family-run winery with a big heart for nature. We know each of our vines, put our hands into every step of the process and are happy to share our passion with our customers.

The philosophizers of our winery Our philosophy is to bottle wines with the characteristics that nature gives them. We use her impulses in their purest form and work in harmony with her. We make use of the sophisticated, harmonious vineyard ecosystem. We rely on biodiversity and counteract pests with beneficial insects, we strengthen the vine and promote the quality of the soil. We have been avoiding chemical-synthetic fertilizers and sprays for over 30 years. However, our attitude is by no means closed to innovations in viticulture - for us they are the key to more sustainability.

Tobias loves experimenting with new vines and has an extreme passion for the product he produces - it's not for nothing that our range includes around 40 wines.

Experience the Huster winery up close Experience us up close at moderated wine tastings (on request or regularly at “Husters Weintafel”) or taste wine with us in the yard during wine sales times. Enjoy sophisticated, regional dishes from Jutta's kitchen, work with us on an ideal concept for your company event or let yourself be pampered at your private celebration in a family atmosphere.

At the beginning of May we invite you to “Music in the Courtyard”. On the 2nd weekend in August every year, “Husters Hallenfest” takes place under the motto “4 days of celebration in the vineyards”. In December you will find us at the Ingelheim Christmas market.
