Live music in the open air: summer highlight ‘Thursdays in the city centre’ starts again

Fun and good humour in the open air - that's what the Ingelheim summer highlight ‘Thursdays in the City’ offers, which is taking place in Ingelheim for the twelfth time this year. The popular series starts on Thursday 8 August on Sebastian-Münster-Platz. Until 29 August, there will be live music every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with changing bands covering a broad musical spectrum. Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM) offers an attractive children's programme especially for youngsters from 3 p.m. on each day of the event. And all this with free admission.

It starts with ‘Thursdays in the City Kids’ on 8 August at 3 pm, when Alys Paletti (alias Aloys Görres) invites both young and old spectators to a musical hands-on programme on Sebastian-Münster-Platz. With children's songs and exciting stories, he will delight his audience, who will be actively involved in the programme.

The evening programme on 8 August promises pure Cuban joie de vivre and hot Caribbean rhythms. From 7 pm, ‘Rody Reyes & Havana con Klasse’ will be performing on the open-air stage. Born and raised in Cuba, Rody Reyes carries the soul of Cuba and the rhythm of the Caribbean within him. With his band ‘Havanna con Klasse’, whose musicians were trained in Cuba, he offers a captivating mix of salsa, merengue, bachata and traditional Cuban music. You can hear unique original compositions and classics from ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ - arranged in a modern and unmistakable way.

The rest of the programme can be found on the IkUM homepage at https://www.ikum-ingelheim.de/veranstaltungen/

The event is supported by Rheinhessische Energie- und Wasserversorgungs-GmbH, Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz and REWE Brezina.
