Restaurant “Engler'S” in the Ingelheim wine cellar is open

Many Ingelheim residents have been eagerly awaiting this moment: since 3 February, the restaurant ‘Engler'S’ in the Ingelheim Winzerkeller has been open under new management. Caterer Maximilian Engler, who already runs the ‘Forsthaus Heiligkreuz’ in Bingen Forest, is eagerly awaiting the new challenge.

The restaurant ‘Engler'S’ in the Ingelheim Winzerkeller is open Monday to Sunday from 11.30 am to 10.30 pm (kitchen until 9 pm). The focus is on German cuisine and regional products. ‘We attach great importance to quality and regionality,’ emphasises Maximilian Engler. ‘Our menu combines traditional German dishes with modern influences - always freshly prepared using regional ingredients.’ The menu includes hearty classics as well as creative seasonal highlights and delicious wine accompaniments. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant also offers changing weekly menus with creative menus and snacks that are not available everywhere. The gastronomic offer is rounded off by a representative range of wines from the Ingelheim wine shop. Whether white wine or red wine, rosé or sparkling, alcoholic or non-alcoholic - guests are spoilt for choice.

‘We are delighted that the restaurant in the Winzerkeller is opening again,’ emphasises Kathrin Saaler, head of the wine shop and tourist information centre in the Winzerkeller. ‘The building is a meeting place that is now being revitalised. This is definitely a gain for Ingelheim.’ The fact that the new restaurateur is offering lunch in the Winzerkeller is also a plus. Because: ‘Guests keep coming to the tourist information centre asking for it.’

Matthias Becker, Managing Director of Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM), which owns the Winzerkeller, is optimistic about the gastronomic relaunch. With ‘Engler'S’, the ideal solution for the restaurant and catering business has been found, says the IkUM Managing Director. ‘We are convinced that the new tenant will bring a breath of fresh air and new ideas to Winzerkeller catering.’

Maximilian Engler's anticipation of the new project is also unmistakable. ‘It's a great atmosphere in the Winzerkeller,’ enthuses the Eltville native. ‘I immediately felt comfortable and at home here.’ The 27-year-old also appreciates the Rhine-Hessian hospitality, as he says. Despite his young age, the new tenant can bring a wealth of experience to the table. Maximilian Engler has been working in the catering industry for around eight years, runs the forest restaurant ‘Forsthaus Heiligkreuz’ with great success and also has a background in business administration. Working in tandem with Stella Ercin, who also has many years of catering experience and is taking over the service management at ‘Engler'S’, the new tenant wants to make the restaurant in the Ingelheim Winzerkeller a model for success. Engler will be actively supported in this endeavour by a highly motivated team.

In addition to the à la carte business, ‘Engler'S’ also provides catering services for events in the wine cellar (meetings, conferences, conventions and private parties) as well as for popular outdoor events such as the spring wine festival or aperitifs. Special events are also planned, for which the ‘Engler'S’ team already has plenty of ideas.
