Rheingau

A trip to the Rheingau wine region is particularly recommended. Even though they are separated by the Rhine, the regular ferry service between Ingelheim and Oestrich-Winkel connects the two towns and their surrounding sights. Ferry "Michael" shuttles between the landing stages every 20 minutes. Vollrads Castle, Eberbach Monastery and, last but not least, the Niederwald Monument near Rüdesheim are just some of the highlights that the Rheingau has to offer. A trip to the Rheingau cultural region is therefore a must for all visitors to Ingelheim with a longer stay.
