Tourist wine stand "Tassilo" at the Jungau opens

The Pavilion on the Rhine is a contact point for visitors looking for information material on sights, cultural monuments and festivals in Ingelheim. It also provides tips on cycling and hiking routes as well as an overview of cultural events in the red wine town. Of course, the topic of "wine experience" is also included. At the "Tassilo", selected wines from the Ingelheim vinotheque will be served and small snacks offered.

During the summer season, the wine tasting stand on the banks of the Rhine is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 pm to 10 pm, on Saturdays from 3 pm to 10 pm and on Sundays from 1 pm to 8 pm, adding another piece of the mosaic to the tourist offer in the red wine town. "Tassilo" not only serves as a meeting point for walkers and hikers, it also invites cyclists travelling on the European long-distance cycle path to make a stopover.

A detour to "Tassilo" is of course also a good idea for day trippers travelling to Frei-Weinheim by ferry from the Rheingau. At "Tassilo" you can sample delicious wines from Ingelheim vineyards and quench your thirst with a glass of water or grape juice on hot summer days. Small snacks help hikers and cyclists to recharge their batteries recharge their batteries for the rest of the way.

The location of the "Tassilo" is the paved area on the Jungau, on which the stylised "Tassilo figures" by sculptor Klaus Prior stand. The seven wooden sculptures tell the story of the trial of Bavarian Duke Tassilo III in the imperial palace in Ingelheim in 788.
